Moser Engineering Services is seeking an experienced CNC Toolmaker / Mold Maker for a full-time onsite assignment at a customer location in Beavercreek, OH (Dayton area). This role supports precision tooling, mold components, and related machined parts in a hands-on tool room environment.
This is not a production-only or desk-based programming role. The ideal candidate moves comfortably between CAM programming, setup, machining, troubleshooting, and hands-on support work.
Position Type
Full-time position with Moser Engineering Services. Onsite assignment at a customer location.
Shift
Day shift, full-time hours. Occasional overtime based on workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and support CNC milling programs using Siemens NX CAM (3-axis)
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC machining centers for tooling and mold work
- Review CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements to determine practical machining methods
- Develop machining approaches including cutting tools, workholding, setup strategy, and process sequence
- Make CAD model or geometry updates in NX to support programming and manufacturing
- Design fixtures as needed to support machining and assembly operations
- Perform hands-on machining, fitting, assembly, and troubleshooting of tooling and components
- Operate tool room equipment as needed, including manual mills, surface grinders, and Wire EDM
- Perform in-process inspection with precision measuring tools to verify part quality and support first-piece validation
- Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, fit-up, and process issues
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a toolmaker, mold maker, CNC machinist, or in related precision machining
- Required: experience with Siemens NX CAD/CAM
- Strong background programming, setting up, and running 3-axis CNC milling operations
- Familiarity with surface modeling for mold and tooling geometry
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills for machining, tooling, and process issues
- Able to work with minimal supervision while collaborating with engineers, machinists, and production teams
Education
High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
