About the Role:
The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods in and around Tyler. This position requires the individual to efficiently plan and execute delivery routes while maintaining high standards of customer service and safety. The driver will be responsible for handling and transporting packages, often involving heavy lifting and operating different types of vehicles such as box trucks and truck and trailer. Success in this role directly impacts customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of the supply chain. The ideal candidate will be dependable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to upholding company policies and safety regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for tractor trailers).
- Proven ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
- Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights regularly.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Ability to stand and be active for extended periods during deliveries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating box trucks, truck and trailer in a professional delivery setting.
- Familiarity with route delivery logistics and time management.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival of goods.
- Load, unload, and transport packages safely, including lifting and carrying heavy items.
- Operate box trucks and tractor trailers in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support overall delivery operations and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Work in a warehouse setting, equipment assembly, cleaning and organizing of equipment and warehouse.
Skills:
The required skills such as reading maps and route delivery planning are essential for navigating efficiently and ensuring timely deliveries. Lifting and carrying heavy weights are daily physical demands that require strength and proper technique to prevent injury. Operating box trucks and tractor trailers safely is critical to maintaining compliance with transportation laws and protecting cargo. Working in a fast-paced environment demands adaptability and focus to manage multiple deliveries under time constraints. Being team-oriented enhances communication and coordination with dispatchers and fellow drivers, contributing to a smooth and effective delivery process.
7:45AM to 5PM M-F Saturday 8AM to Noon if needed
This job is 40 hours per week, overtime if needed.
