Roles & Responsibilities:

Advise on qualified retirement plans, including defined benefit, defined contribution/401(k), multiemployer, multiple employer, cash balance, and 403(b) plans.

Counsel plan sponsors on tax qualification, fiduciary duties, funding rules, investments, M&A, and downsizing.

Draft/review plan documents and amendments; ensure compliance with tax-qualification requirements.

Provide guidance on plan corrections, administration, governance, benefit claims, and participant communications.

Negotiate and monitor service provider agreements for retirement plans.
Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate with admission in IL, MA, NJ, OH, PA, TN, or DC.

Minimum 7 years of employee benefits/ERISA experience, focusing on qualified retirement plans.

Experience with multiemployer, multiple employer, cash balance, and/or 403(b) plans preferred.

Strong academic credentials, legal problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to distill complex matters into actionable advice with substantial research skills.
