Machine Field Engineer – Minneapolis, MN (Global High‐Growth Company)

Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‐scaling global firm as a Machine Field Engineer. In this role, you will travel to customer sites to install, commission, and troubleshoot advanced electro‐mechanical and computer‐vision‐based equipment. You will work independently, solve complex technical problems on the fly, and support ongoing product innovation.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, excellent organization, and the ability to create detailed documentation while working remotely. You must be confident troubleshooting technical issues and devising solutions in real time within high‐stakes manufacturing environments.
Location
- Minneapolis, MN, USA (Onsite 5 days a week)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Commission and integrate computer vision systems, industrial printers, and precision instrumentation into manufacturing lines across North America and globally
- Provide customer support including training, upgrades, maintenance, remote assistance, and on‐site troubleshooting
- Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and implement custom features for PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and VFDs
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships; represent the company at industry events and demonstrations
- Support engineering teams with assembly, fabrication, and servicing of industrial equipment
- Frequent travel within the United States; optional international travel for certain projects
Key Skills
- Excellent communication and customer‐facing confidence
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Understanding of electrical circuits
- Experience with industrial controls: PLCs, HMIs, SCADA
- Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license
Education Requirements
- Engineering Degree
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years servicing or maintaining industrial machinery
- Experience with CRM tools (asset)
- Proven on‐the‐job problem‐solving ability
- Experience with vision systems, lighting, or optics (asset)
- International business exposure (asset)
- Wire & cable industry experience (asset)
