Position Summary
The Activities Assistant supports the implementation of daily activity programs designed to promote resident engagement, cognitive stimulation, socialization, and overall well-being. This role works closely with the Activities team to create meaningful experiences that enhance quality of life for residents in a skilled nursing setting.
Position Type: Full Time Temp
Salary Range: $16.00 to $18.00 / hour
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of scheduled daily activity programs and special events.
- Support group and one-on-one activities tailored to resident interests and abilities.
- Encourage resident participation while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Prepare activity materials and set up/clean up program spaces.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming activity environment.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in long-term care, recreation, or senior services preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
