Job DescriptionTest Engineer (TE2 / TE3)

Location: Annapolis Junction | On-Site
Clearance Requirement: ACTIVE TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Required)

About the Role

We are hiring Test Engineers at the TE2 and TE3 levels to support end-to-end system test and evaluation activities for complex, mission-driven government systems. These positions ensure that systems function as intended, meet operational requirements, and comply with strict security and performance standards throughout development and deployment.

In this role, you will plan, execute, and assess testing activities while working alongside systems engineers, acquisition professionals, and program leadership to validate system readiness and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review system requirements, design artifacts, and acquisition documentation to develop comprehensive test approaches
  • Design and execute test cases, procedures, and evaluation methodologies
  • Produce and maintain test plans, readiness documentation, risk assessments, and final evaluation reports
  • Conduct performance testing, data collection, and result analysis to assess system behavior
  • Establish metrics, benchmarks, and evaluation criteria to measure system effectiveness
  • Apply statistical techniques, modeling, and simulation to support confidence assessments
  • Coordinate test configurations, instrumentation, and data handling processes
  • Support configuration management and change tracking during test execution
  • Participate in Integrated Test Teams (ITTs) and cross-functional working groups
  • Verify test preparedness, including personnel, environments, tools, and security posture
  • Review test artifacts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Additional Responsibilities – TE3 (Senior Level)

  • Lead test planning and execution activities across multiple workstreams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for test and evaluation coordination with government and contractor leadership
  • Oversee resource planning, scheduling, and task prioritization activities
  • Ensure objectivity, independence, and quality assurance of all test activities and outcomes
  • Adapt test strategies to address emerging risks, system changes, and evolving program requirements
  • Present test findings, risks, and recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders

Required QualificationsTE2 – Mid-Level Test Engineer

  • Possess at least 5 years of experience supporting test and evaluation efforts on complex systems
  • Hold a Bachelors degree in engineering, science, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field
  • Substitute four (4) additional years of relevant test experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrate experience supporting system, integration, or operational testing activities
  • Prefer experience testing within Computer Network Operations (CNO) environments

TE3 – Senior Test Engineer

  • Possess at least 8 years of experience supporting test and evaluation efforts on large-scale systems
  • Hold a Bachelors degree in a related technical discipline (same substitution policy applies)
  • Demonstrate experience leading test teams and coordinating with government stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrate familiarity with DoD or Intelligence Community test and evaluation frameworks
  • Demonstrate experience supporting verification and validation activities
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and data interpretation capabilities
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and documentation skills

Salary Range

$155,000 – $182,000 (USD)
