Job DescriptionFacilities Maintenance Technician I

Full-time or Part-Time | On-site | Weekday and Weekend shifts depending on Needs of Organization| $24–$28/hour DOE + overtime | Benefits

Amped Kitchens builds and operates large-scale commercial kitchen campuses where food brands, caterers, meal companies, and restaurant groups grow fast. Our facilities need to be clean, safe, reliable, and ready every day. The Facilities Maintenance Technician I helps make that happen.

This is a hands-on role for someone early in their maintenance career who wants steady work, practical training, and exposure to real building systems in a busy food-production environment. You’ll support routine repairs, work orders, preventive maintenance, docks, common areas, and client move-ins while learning from experienced facilities leaders.

At Amped, maintenance is not just fixing things after they break. It is keeping the building ready, protecting food-safe operations, and helping dozens of food businesses scale from test batches to truckloads.

The Role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I supports day-to-day facility operations, maintenance, repairs, grounds work, and client support. You’ll work under the direction of the National Director of Facilities or Facilities Manager and help keep the facility safe, clean, organized, and operating smoothly.

This is a good fit for someone who is mechanically inclined, reliable, comfortable with tools, and ready to grow into a stronger maintenance professional.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete routine maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and operational support across the facility, loading docks, exterior areas, and common spaces.

  • Assist with basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall, lighting, and simple electrical work.

  • Respond to work orders and maintenance requests quickly, professionally, and with good judgment.

  • Identify building or equipment issues, handle routine fixes where appropriate, and escalate larger problems to a supervisor.

  • Support preventive maintenance rounds, inspections, equipment checks, logs, and work-order documentation.

  • Keep shops, mechanical areas, storage areas, grounds, sidewalks, parking areas, and common spaces clean, organized, and safe.

  • Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and assigned facility equipment.

  • Support loading dock activity, client moves, equipment relocation, and facility setup.

  • Work with teammates, vendors, and supervisors to keep building systems running and client operations moving.

  • Participate in facility safety and emergency-response procedures as assigned.

  • Jump in where needed to help the Amped team keep the building ready.

What You BringRequired

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in maintenance, facilities, building operations, warehouse operations, grounds work, or a similar role.

  • Basic knowledge of tools, maintenance supplies, and safe work practices.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, teammates, vendors, and clients.

  • Good judgment about when to fix a problem directly and when to escalate it.

  • Reliable, steady, and willing to learn.

  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, carpentry, or light construction.

  • Forklift, pallet jack, or similar equipment experience.

  • Food facility, warehouse, manufacturing, or commercial kitchen experience.

  • Spanish proficiency.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role. The Facilities Maintenance Technician I must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, climb ladders, and work at heights.

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, supplies, equipment, and materials.

  • Work in mechanical rooms, loading areas, kitchens, exterior areas, and other facility spaces.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and assigned maintenance equipment safely.

  • Work around heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and normal facility conditions.

Schedule & Working Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site role. The standard schedule is Monday–Friday day shift, with occasional weekends, nights, or emergency coverage as needed to keep the facility safe and operational.

Why Amped

Your work keeps dozens of food businesses moving. This is one facility, not a service route. You’ll get variety, stability, and the chance to build real maintenance skills in a growing company.

Amped offers:

  • Competitive hourly pay, overtime eligibility, and benefits.

  • Steady, hands-on work in a busy commercial food-production facility.

  • Exposure to real building systems, including docks, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and kitchen-support infrastructure.

  • Practical training and opportunities to grow into higher-level facilities roles.

  • A team that values responsiveness, safety, and doing the job right.

Reporting

Reports to the National Director of Facilities or Facilities Manager.
