This position is ideal for someone who brings strong underground utility experience—specifically in wet utilities, trenching, and underground piping—in California. The role will work closely with the field and executive teams to drive project performance, support compliance, and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage field operations in partnership with project superintendents and engineers

  • Track project schedule, scope, and costs, identifying risks and opportunities

  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors

  • Ensure compliance with all contract requirements, safety protocols, and local regulations

  • Lead project documentation, change management, and progress reporting

  • Mentor Project Engineers and junior team members to support professional growth

  • Participate in internal project reviews and financial updates with senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of field experience in heavy civil or underground construction

  • Must have hands-on experience with underground piping, trenching, and wet utility installation in California

  • Familiarity with public works requirements, Cal/OSHA standards, and city agency coordination

  • OSHA 30 (CAL/OSHA) certification required

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor project teams

  • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills

  • Able to access and navigate active job sites across various terrain and conditions

What’s in It for You?

  • Full benefits package, including:

    • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

    • Life and disability insurance

    • 401(k) with employer match

    • Tuition reimbursement (after one year)

    • Paid time off

  • Leadership that supports growth, mentorship, and work-life balance

  • The chance to work on impactful infrastructure projects that serve local communities
