Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field Communications Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of communication systems used in industrial field environments. This role works a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM and requires individuals who are comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication with team members and supervisors.
The technician will work with low-voltage DC systems, field communication equipment, and basic networking infrastructure. This position is ideal for individuals who are self-driven, adaptable, and capable of working in fast-paced operational settings.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot field communication systems and related equipment
- Work with low DC voltage systems, wiring, and power distribution components
- Support the setup and maintenance of communication networks and connected devices
- Monitor system performance and respond to issues to maintain operational reliability
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on field equipment
- Document work performed, system updates, and any operational issues
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other field personnel
- Follow safety procedures and industry best practices while working in the field
- Assist with system upgrades, testing, and commissioning activities as needed
- Work independently while managing time and priorities effectively during assigned shifts
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Experience working with low DC voltage systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work a 7 on / 7 off rotation (7 PM – 7 AM)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in field environments
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and technical instructions
Preferred
- Basic networking knowledge or experience
- Experience working in field operations or industrial environments
- Familiarity with communication equipment, radios, sensors, or monitoring systems
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams or technical documentation
Job Details
Pay: $30-$36/per hour
Location: Midland, TX
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off rotation (7 PM – 7 AM)
