The Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), owned and operated by the Gallatin Airport Authority, is seeking a motivated individual for a full-time Information Technology Specialist position.

The Information Technology Specialist monitors and supports the Authority’s Information Technology and Cybersecurity systems and operations, including supporting department management in the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of technology and cybersecurity solutions and life-cycle management of all IT supporting services, infrastructure, and telecommunications systems in accordance with applicable regulations, Authority requirements, and security, safety, and quality standards. This position exercises independent discretion throughout the major duties/responsibilities.
Compensation:
- Starting pay rate of $80,000 annual (exempt) depending on experience.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Executes standards for Authority business systems and technologies including application deployment approaches, systems documentation requirements, databases, operating systems, system interfaces, networking, communication, cabling, etc.; hardware and storage; software and software development.
- Configures, installs, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots Authority applications, operating systems, firmware, drivers, public address system, flight information system, cameras, telephone system, gates, baggage handling information system, and hardware.
- Executes Information Technology and Cybersecurity in alignment with department goals and initiatives, budget, expected deliverables, timeframes, and resource utilization.
- Identifies needed areas of change or development and institutes changes to improve IT infrastructure and telecommunications systems and optimization of operations.
- Provides service and support for network equipment to include car wash, gate access, cameras and other security technologies.
- Performs cabling and networking tasks, including cable installation and maintenance.
- Resolves and responds properly to questions, complaints, and/or requests for IT and cybersecurity services by the tenants, stakeholders, and partners.
- Provides IT and cybersecurity support and training to end users as needed.
- Assists with the investigation and remediation of IT, Cybersecurity, and other failures and identification of root causes, as assigned.
- Assumes duties on an on-call basis, as needed.
- Operates and drives Authority-owned vehicles landside and in non-movement area.
- Uses effective and standard radio communications to communicate with other personnel.
- Communicates effectively and exchanges information in a professional and positive manner with employees, tenants, concessionaires, vendors, contractors, and the public.
- Participates in the Authority’s Safety Management System.
- Completes required trainings.
- Practices and adheres to the Authority’s policies and procedures and federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High School Graduate/Equivalent
- 18 years or older
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- 2+ years of experience in Information Technology and Cybersecurity or closely related field
- Experience with configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of Windows operating system
- Knowledge of principles and practices of IT and Cybersecurity.
- Able to compare and/or judge readily observable functional, technical, structural, compositional or identifiable characteristics of data, people or things
- Able to read and understand spatial and graphical displays and enter information into hard copy or computer-based logs and records
- Able to follow instructions, work safely, and independently
- Able to be thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
- Able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships and communicate effectively with other employees, tenants, concessionaires and the general public
- Able to multi-task and perform in stressful conditions with professionalism and efficiency
- Able to read and understand a variety of professional, technical, regulatory and administrative documentation, directions, instructions, methods, and procedures and learn and understand complex subject matter principles and techniques
- Able to analyze, assess, and problem-solve complex situations.
- Must meet physical requirements necessary to perform essential functions of the position (with or without a reasonable accommodation)
- Must pass a 10-year pre-employment Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) necessary to obtain federally mandated security clearances, badging, and access to the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and retain access authority and an active badge with the necessary credentials to perform the essential responsibilities of position
- Must pass a 7-year Pre-employment Background investigation.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, pass required motor vehicle checks in order to operate heavy equipment and Authority-owned vehicles and meet insurability requirements
- Must achieve nonmovement area access within 90 days of employment and maintain access privileges
- Must safely operate and drive Authority-owned vehicles landside and in non-movement area.
- Must communicate effectively on airport radio systems
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (computer science educational emphasis preferred) (preferred)
- Mechanical background and aptitude, including but not limited to, experience with electrical, electronics, and information technology (preferred)
- Knowledge of airport operations and radio procedures (preferred)
- Working knowledge of network infrastructure, layer 2 networking, cabling types and standards (preferred)
- Working knowledge of coding with various languages (preferred)
- Working knowledge of operational technologies and SCADA systems (preferred)
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
Licenses & Certification:
- Network+ Certification (preferred)
- Security + Certification (preferred)
