Advanced Wireless Communications (AWC) is seeking a skilled LMR two-way radio and ERCES Public Safety (DAS) Field Technician to support the installation, testing maintenance, and repair of wireless communication systems across a range of retail and long-term care customers. This position requires flexible travel (up to 90%) and hands-on expertise with DAS infrastructure and two-way radio systems including Kenwood, Motorola, Fiplex, ADRF and other OEM equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Install, test, and maintain LMR Systems, ERCES Public Safety Systems, DAS infrastructure, repeaters, combiners, and AWC proprietary systems.
    • Troubleshoot, program, and repair all tiers of two-way radios, portables, mobiles, and network components.
    • Read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and wiring documentation.
    • Interface with engineering, production, and quality teams for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
    • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair reports.
    • Provide support and training to fellow technicians and collaborate with sales on demo/loaner equipment.
    • Use and maintain test equipment such as service monitors, spectrum analyzers, watt meters, and multimeters.
    • Some weekend work required

Qualifications:

    • Experience maintaining and repairing two-way communications systems and ERCES systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills down to the component level (analog/digital circuitry).
    • Capable of running and terminating coax cable (LDF4, Helix, LMR 240 & LMR 400)
    • Knowledge of Kenwood, Motorola, and Vertex radio systems.
    • NICET or GROL certification. NICET preferred
    • PLT certification preferred (registered or unregistered in progress).
    • Proficient in test instrumentation and service procedures. Such as Anritsu’s or Astronics Freedom Service Monitors, PCTEL Seehawk and Nextivity Compass XR
    • AS degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent certification + 3+ years’ experience preferred.
    • Military engineering/communications background encouraged to apply.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
