Role Focus
- Diagnose and Repair: Tackle mechanical and electrical problems with precision and complete lasting repairs.
- Preventive Care: Conduct full maintenance visits and system inspections to keep equipment reliable.
- Customer Guidance: Present options and pricing transparently; help homeowners make informed choices.
- Opportunity Identification: Recommend appropriate repairs or replacements and note legitimate additional service needs.
Core Competencies
- Residential and light-commercial service expertise
- Proficiency with AC systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps, and mini-split/ductless
- Comfort with boilers and oil-fired equipment
- Strong thermostat/controls knowledge and electrical troubleshooting
- Refrigeration diagnostics, airflow evaluation, and ductwork problem-solving
Credentials & Capabilities
- EPA Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Physical ability to climb ladders; work in attics, crawlspaces, and confined spaces; lift 50+ lbs
- Tool proficiency with standard HVAC diagnostic gear, hand tools, and power tools
- Professionalism in communication, customer service, and independent troubleshooting
Preferred Background
- Multiple years of service and diagnostics as your primary focus (not mainly installation)
- Significant hands-on work with boilers and oil systems
