Job Description

The Field Service Technician delivers comprehensive on-site mechanical services, including repairs, installations, commissioning, warranty support, training, and troubleshooting. This role involves direct customer interaction through on-site visits, email, and video calls, and requires strong written and verbal communication skills. The Field Service Technician builds and maintains positive customer relationships to support service, parts sales, and overall group profitability.

Essential Duties:

• Travel frequently (primarily domestic) for field service assignments lasting 2–3 weeks, often with short notice.
• Perform equipment repairs, installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operator training at customer sites.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records, reports, and documentation.
• Support internal parts sales and provide customer support via email and video conferencing.
• Provide mechanical support to internal production teams or the Technical Center as required.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support revenue growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in field service, mechanical maintenance, or a related customer-facing role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of field service experience.
• Hands-on experience with industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• 5+ years of mechanical experience with high-speed rotating equipment, automotive systems, gearboxes, or industrial machinery.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to enter confined spaces and climb ladders or stairs (up to five flights).
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) and work in enclosed areas.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 respirators.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

$56,473 – $95,976 annually.

Salaries may vary above or below this range based on experience, education, training, location, and merit.
