Position Overview
HWX Enterprises is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing equipment at a client facility in Flint, Michigan.
This position is primarily focused on mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and troubleshooting. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working around industrial production equipment.
Candidates do not need to be experts in PLC programming or advanced industrial electrical systems. Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment problems and make necessary repairs
- Repair and replace bearings, belts, chains, shafts, sprockets, seals, and other mechanical components
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and related equipment
- Perform basic maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, air lines, and fittings
- Assist with maintenance and repair of ovens, presses, printing equipment, chillers, air compressors, vacuum systems, and other production equipment
- Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and help return equipment to production
- Document maintenance activities and completed repairs
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
Qualifications
- Previous mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, millwright, machine repair, automotive, heavy equipment, or similar hands-on mechanical experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience working with motors, bearings, belts, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, or pneumatics preferred
- Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus, but advanced electrical or PLC experience is not required
- Ability to use common hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn

Schedule Requirements
This position is expected to begin on 1st shift. Candidates should have schedule flexibility and be willing to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, weekends, and overtime when required by operational needs.
