Job DescriptionFLUX CORE WELDER Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, mandatory overtime as needed $25.00 per hour ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Welding Production: Perform high-quality structural FCAW welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical (uphill/downhill) positions.
- Setup & Operation: Select, set up, and operate welding machines, wire feeders, and shielding gas apparatus.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical documents, blueprints, and weld symbols to determine layout and specifications.
- Preparation & Finishing: Prepare surfaces for welding (cleaning, grinding) and clean welds (chipping/grinding slag) after each pass.
- Inspection: Inspect and test welds for accuracy and structural integrity to ensure compliance with AWS or ASME standards.
- Fitting: Assist with layout, fitting, and tacking components before final welding.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience with FCAW in a structural fabrication or shipbuilding environment.
- Certifications: Requires passing a 3G or 4G welding test (uphill/structural).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of metal properties, weld joints, and wire types (e.g., .045, .052, 1/16 wire).
