Job Description:
We're looking for a Cybersecurity Metrics & Exercise Analyst to support the design, planning, and execution of cybersecurity exercises. You'll develop exercise documentation, including:
Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and exercise plans.
Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) and discussion questions.
Controller/Observer instructions and exercise control schematics.
Exercise artifacts (player packets, reference materials, injects).
Administrative documents (invitations, agendas, sign-in sheets, after-action templates).
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- This position is remote with occasional travel to DC, MD, VA, WV, NJ, and OK.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related IT field
- Minimum 4 years hands-on experience facilitating cybersecurity exercises
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response, and risk management.
- Ability to design and assess realistic cyber scenarios and exercise injects.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and exercise methodologies (NIST, DHS CISA, DoD/DHS playbooks).
- Familiarity with project management tools and practices (Agile, waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
- Skilled facilitator for meetings, workshops, and after-action reviews.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior analysts in exercise design and facilitation (for Level II).
- Comfortable leading cross-functional teams through high-pressure exercises.
Responsibilities
Plan and Execute Cybersecurity Exercises:
- Support the design, planning, and execution of cybersecurity exercises (tabletop, functional, and full-scale.)
- Develop exercise documentation, including:
- Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and exercise plans.
- Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) and discussion questions.
- Controller/Observer instructions and exercise control schematics.
- Exercise artifacts (player packets, reference materials, injects).
- Administrative documents (invitations, agendas, sign-in sheets, after-action templates).
- Facilitate planning meetings and after-action reviews.
- Collect and analyze exercise observations, metrics, and evaluation data.
- Develop and manage exercise project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Manage Stakeholders:
- Facilitate coordination across multiple stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and alignment
- Demonstrate professionalism and accountability in high-visibility engagements
- Brief leadership and stakeholders clearly and concisely
- Build trust and credibility with stakeholders and leadership
