Legal Assistant or Paralegal
Full Time Preferred (Part-Time Candidates will be Considered)
I am seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join my team. While my preference is for a full-time individual; I welcome interest from qualified candidates who are available part-time (approximately 20-30 hours per week).
Schedule – On-site, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Heavy focus on Estate Planning and Administering Estates/Probate and emphasis on Real Estate and Personal Injury
· Administration tasks include answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, opening mail and taking action as necessary.
· Create Estate Planning Documents including Wills, Healthcare Power of Attorney, Advance Directives & Financial Power of Attorney.
· Draft, prepare and e-file legal documents such as Motions, Pleadings, Discovery Request and e-file/mail to various courts
· Track and monitor case files and update estate ledgers
· Drop off/Execute documents at local courthouses as necessary
· Ability to identify legal concepts to draft correspondence and pleadings
· Mail out collection letters and then follow up with phone calls and handle the disbursements of funds received
Additional Skillsets necessary to be successful in this position:
· Must be self-motivated and a multi tasker and willing to put in extra time if necessary to meet a deadline.
· Individual must be highly organized and excel in time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure filing deadlines are met
· Efficiency in working with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel required.
· Experience with Word Perfect a plus
· Strong verbal and writing communication skills
· Quickbooks Experience a plus
