1.0 | POSITION SUMMARY
The Wireman is an entry-level production role that assists with low-voltage wiring of electrical equipment, including
Motor Control Centers, disconnects, breakers, and switchgear.
This role supports material preparation, wiring activities, quality checks, and safe use of hand tools while building the
knowledge and skills needed to perform electrical wiring work. Work is performed in a fast-paced production
environment and requires attention to detail, dependable attendance, communication, and collaboration with the
production team.
2.0 | KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Wiring Support
- Assist with wiring electrical equipment, including Motor Control Centers, disconnects, breakers, and switchgear.
- Support wiring tasks as directed using detailed drawings, wiring schematics, and work instructions.
- Learn to read and follow wiring schematics and detailed drawings.
- Use appropriate hand tools to support assigned wiring work.
Materials and Work Preparation
- Assist in verifying materials against Bills of Materials and customer specifications.
- Prepare and organize materials needed for assigned work.
- Identify missing, incorrect, or damaged materials and communicate findings to the appropriate production lead or
supervisor.
Quality and Safety
- Participate in quality checks to help ensure work conforms to specifications and detailed drawings.
- Follow established safety protocols during all assigned work.
- Maintain an orderly work area and handle materials and tools safely.
- Report observed quality or safety concerns promptly.
Learning and Team Support
- Participate in training and learning opportunities to develop electrical wiring skills.
- Apply feedback and instruction to improve work methods and accuracy.
- Communicate clearly with production team members regarding assigned work and material needs.
- Support other production duties as needed to meet operational requirements.
3.0 | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to follow instructions, wiring schematics, detailed drawings, and work directions.
- Ability to learn electrical wiring tasks and use appropriate hand tools safely.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a production team.
- Dependable attendance.

6.0 | PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a full shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, including overhead and at or below waist level.
- Fine motor dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to manipulate small components, terminate wires, and operate hand tools.
- Sufficient visual acuity (with or without correction) to read wiring schematics, detailed drawings, and component labels, and to distinguish wire colors and markings.
- Ability to grasp, grip, and repetitively use hand tools throughout the workday.
- Occasional climbing of ladders or stepstools and working in confined or awkward positions around equipment.

9.0 | FIRST 90 DAYS
1. Learn the Work Area and Safety Practices
- Complete assigned onboarding and safety instruction.
- Learn the production work area, material flow, hand-tool expectations, and applicable safety protocols.
- Understand how assigned tasks support low-voltage wiring production.
2. Build Wiring and Drawing Fundamentals
- Learn to identify common electrical equipment, materials, and components used in assigned work.
- Practice following wiring schematics, detailed drawings, Bills of Materials, and work instructions under direction.
- Perform basic assigned wiring support tasks with increasing accuracy.
3. Support Quality and Production Execution
- Participate in material verification and quality checks for assigned work.
- Apply feedback to improve workmanship, organization, and adherence to specifications.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance, safe work practices, and effective collaboration with the production team.
Priorities may be adjusted based on production needs, training progress, and assigned work.
