Staff Data Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems. You will play a crucial role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by ensuring the availability of high-quality data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
- Develop and maintain data models to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Optimize and troubleshoot existing data systems and processes for performance and reliability.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle, implementing best practices for data governance.
- Utilize tools such as Google BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Dataflow to manage and analyze large datasets.
- Support business intelligence initiatives using tools like OBIEE and Circana.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling techniques.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Google Cloud services.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python for data processing and automation.
- Experience with business intelligence tools and practices, particularly in relation to data enablement.
- Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools and ETL frameworks.
