Associate Attorney – Estate & Elder Law (Full-Time, In-Office | 40+ hrs/week)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to manage a diverse portfolio of Elder Law and Estate Planning cases. You will provide comprehensive legal counsel to elderly clients and their families, navigating complex issues from asset protection to long-term care advocacy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Estate Planning: Draft and execute sophisticated documents, including Wills, Revocable/Irrevocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Directives.
  • Asset Protection & Medicaid: Advise on estate/inheritance tax, Medicaid spend-down strategies, and complex protection planning (e.g., family partnerships).
  • Administration: Manage estate and trust administration, prepare fiduciary accountings, and oversee asset distribution and tax returns.
  • Medicaid Advocacy: Prepare applications, represent clients in fair hearings, and advocate for seniors in institutional or home-care settings.
  • Litigation: Handle contested matters, including Will/Trust contests and Guardianship/Conservatorship disputes.
  • Management & Growth: Supervise paralegals, maintain referral networks, and actively participate in business development and CLE programs.
  • Qualifications & Skills:

    • Education: J.D. degree required; LLM, MBA, or CPA is a plus.
    • Experience: 2+ years in Estate & Elder Law (highly preferred).
    • Technical: Proficiency in MS Office and case management software (e.g., Clio).
    • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a client-centered approach.
    • Operations: Accurate billable hour tracking and clear communication of fee structures.
