Job Title: Information Systems Support Technician – Level II

Position Summary
The Information Systems Support Technician – Level II is a technical role responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure. This role provides advanced technical support to users, leads escalated incident resolution, contributes to infrastructure administration, and ensures compliance with cybersecurity standards, including CMMC / NIST 800-171. Working under the direction of the IT Director, this position plays a critical role in the daily operation, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and support IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, workstations, and mobile devices.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support and serve as the escalation point for Support Technicians and help desk tickets.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, desktops, and enterprise applications.
- Administer Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (AAD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
- Support cloud platform operations and integrations, including Azure and Azure GCC-High environments.
- Assist in deploying and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
- Support and troubleshoot virtualization environment (Hyper-V) and government cloud platforms (Azure GCC-High).
- Monitor and manage tickets through the Help Desk system, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
- Monitor system performance and security, apply patches, and conduct regular health checks.
- Maintain system and network documentation, diagrams, configuration records, and support procedures.
- Contribute to incident response plans and mitigation of cybersecurity threats across servers and endpoints.
- Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh projects.
- Mentor junior team members and share technical expertise to improve team capability.
- Promote a collaborative, team-oriented approach to IT support and infrastructure projects.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in technical support, system administration, or similar roles
- In-depth knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2022, networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TCP/IP)
- Proficiency in reading and creating network diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Must be a U.S. Person
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, DFARS 252.204-7012, and CMMC requirements
- Experience with firewall administration
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft certifications)
