Robert Half is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join a manufacturing client in St. Paul, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will provide legal expertise across a range of employment-related matters, partnering closely with HR teams to address workplace challenges and ensure compliance with U.S. employment laws. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of processes and procedures while navigating complex employee relations issues.


Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance to HR business partners on employee relations matters, including terminations, leave policies, and workplace concerns.

• Offer coaching and support for HR decisions, ensuring alignment with employment laws and organizational policies.

• Analyze scenarios to identify potential legal risks and provide recommendations to address them effectively.

• Assist in the creation and revision of processes and procedures to improve compliance and efficiency.

• Address questions related to family and disability leave in accordance with applicable regulations.

• Deliver expertise on employment discrimination matters to promote fair and lawful practices.

• Serve as a trusted advisor on general U.S. employment law topics, ensuring legal compliance across the organization.

• Collaborate with teams to spot and resolve potential issues before they escalate.

• Provide strategic input to HR teams on complex employment-related situations.

• Ensure the organization maintains high standards of legal compliance in all employment practices.

• Licensed attorney with significant experience in U.S. employment law.
• In-depth knowledge of employment discrimination regulations and practices.
• Strong ability to coach and advise HR professionals on legal and procedural matters.
• Experience handling employee relations issues, including terminations and leave policies.
• Proven ability to identify legal risks within workplace scenarios and propose solutions.
• Skilled in developing and refining processes and procedures for compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with HR teams.
• Familiarity with family and disability leave laws and their application in employment settings.
