Summary:

The Residential Support Specialist operates within a residential treatment environment, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of service providers. This role involves providing and monitoring treatment support for up to 28 residential clients, directing daily activities and chores with a sensitive and trauma-informed approach.

Activities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Program Administration:
  • Assist with residential client admissions and discharges as requested.
  • Monitor and ensure client participation in daily activities.
  • Answer phones and provide office support.
  • Intervene in client disputes and address inappropriate behavior.
  • Take and record vital signs.
  • Assist clients with medications and performing UA’s.
  • Ensure clients receive their self-administered medications accurately.
  • Accurately update and document in the Medication Administration Record Sheets (MARS).
  • Report errors and grievances according to proper procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness of unit rooms and facilities.
  • Handle unit laundry and empty trash/recycling as needed.
  • Maintain high visibility and promote positive responses to change.
  • Socialize with and encourage clients.
  • Assist with meal service and cleanup.
  • Complete required notes and documentation, including input and management of collected data. data.
  • Maintain daily treatment protocols and procedures.
  • Document client interactions and activities accurately in client records.
  • Assist clients in connecting with Peer Support Specialists.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with other unit staff as part of the treatment team.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure cohesive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with Residential Leadership to develop and implement program improvements.
  • Support Residential Counselors and Peer Support Specialists in their roles.
  • Work alongside the Residential Medical Specialist(s) to ensure client medical needs are met.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance team to uphold treatment standards.
  • Collaborate with Outpatient Leadership to facilitate client transitions between residential and outpatient care.

3. Attend:
