Quality Technician | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods against specifications.
  • Utilize various precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) to verify product dimensions and characteristics.
  • Document inspection results accurately, maintain comprehensive quality records, and generate quality reports.
  • Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate actions.
  • Assist in the investigation of quality issues, participate in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
  • Support the calibration program for inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to quality procedures and work instructions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or inspection role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Skilled in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CMM programming
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification
  • Internal auditing experience (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
  • Proficiency with statistical process control (SPC) software beyond data entry
