The Day Porter Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and working environment inside and on the grounds of the Cirrus Campus. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction for Cirrus customers and guests during visits to the campus

Job Summary:

Monday - Friday 8am- 430PM

The Day Porter Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and working environment inside and on the grounds of the Cirrus Campus. The role plays an essential part in upholding Cirrus Aircraft’s standards of safety, quality, and innovation by cleaning and maintaining facilities that reflect our commitment to excellence.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain the Cirrus facilities and equipment to include general cleaning duties.
  • Aids with the operations of campus facilities. Anticipates needs and responds promptly.
  • Strives to improve service performance and campus environment.
  • Prepare cleaning chemicals and equipment according to instructions.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Gather and empty trash, recycling, and other waste receptables in accordance with company and environmental standards..
  • Assist with maintaining guest and employee lounge and break areas.
  • Dust desks, office equipment, window blinds, lighting fixtures, and other surfaces.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using approved window cleaner.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, dust mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming them.
  • Clean lobbies, stairways, and landings.
  • Focus on deep cleaning areas not included by 3rd party cleaning contractor.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Perform spot-cleaning to remove smudges from walls, doors, woodwork, and glass surfaces.
  • Maintain the company's facilities and equipment to include general building care, recycling, snow removal, yard care, etc.
  • Notify supervisors concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Provide training for new employees on job procedures and methods.
  • Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuums, scrubbers, mops and carts.
  • Wears proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions.
  • Maintain clean personal appearance, workwear and uniform.
  • Work with Facilities team to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Complies with clerical work, such as work instructions, that govern job duties.
  • Complete assigned tasks in work areas as needed to support internal & external of facilities including weather events.
  • Monitor building security and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor, or appropriate designee.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED; two years related facilities or janitorial experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of cleaning tools and equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of company requirements and practices.
  • Skill in completing multiple tasks at once.
  • Skill in oral and written communications.
  • Skill in operating cleaning equipment and using chemical cleaners following safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, and employers.
  • Ability to work independently and meet managerial goals.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Ability to use control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machinery or processes.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to move about while using cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, or kneel repeatedly.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds.

Certificates or Licensures: List the licenses, certificates and registrations that are required to perform the essential duties of this job.

  • Driver's license preferred.
