Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and professional Store Manager to join the team at our growing store. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the store operates smoothly and efficiently. You will hire, train, and supervise staff, schedule shifts, and implement operational processes that attract and retain customers. Successful Store Managers lead by example and uphold the highest standards in customer service. Introduction to APNI MANDI
Apni Mandi is a leading Indian food and grocery chain based in the San Francisco Bay area, founded in 2018. Apni Mandi is a privately held company that plans to grow beyond San Francisco to other Californian cities and to other states.
Currently, Apni Mandi operates four full-service stores in the southern Bay area with another two to four stores being added in 2025. These stores offer a full range of groceries and a bakery and kitchen that makes a wide range of traditional Indian dishes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage store operations - check out, receiving and placing product on-shelf, a live kitchen, and other store operations Hire, train, and lead employees
  • Lead and motivate a team to deliver superior customer service and teach and coach the team for continuous improvement
  • Coach employees in practices to attract and retain customers
  • Create and/or approve work schedules
  • Minimize product shrink and payroll
  • Maximize sales and gross margin by maintaining a high level of in-stocks without over-stocking
  • Plan and execute sales, promotions, and events
  • Maintain information in the point of sale system
  • Oversee the receipt of products into inventory
  • Enforce all local, state and federal government labor, safety, hygiene and sanitation standards and laws

Qualifications

  • Five years of previous retail management (Manager or Assistant Manager) experience is preferred
  • Previous sales experience with the proven ability to meet or exceed performance standards
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent team building and leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, or relevant field is preferred
