Senior Website Designer/Manager
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Website Designer/Manager with a minimum 5 years professional expert level experience in web development and web design services to support a Federal Government contract. Must pass a background check for security clearance, be a U.S. citizen, and must be able to work on site in Washington, DC/Alexandria, VA.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • This hybrid, leadership-level role combines hands-on design, front-end development, and project management, typically for large organizations or federal agencies.
  • You will support the clients Web Team, which drafts and posts all external content on the clients external site and manages internal content on the clients Employee Portal.
  • Respond to publishing and editing requests from staff, creating webpages, news and event items, official funding and guidance documents, and other content using the Drupal Content Management System (CMS), ServiceNow Employee Center, and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Create clear, compelling webpage layouts that conform to web design best practices, WCAG 2.0/Section 508 requirements, and federal plain language requirements.
  • Format and upload PDFs, images, and other files to the website.
  • Provide timely, high-quality customer support to staff, handling requests, and inquiries, resolving issues, and tracking all requests/inquiries within the clients Web Team ticketing system (built in ServiceNow and Microsoft Lists).
  • Monitor ticket dashboards to ensure tickets are prioritized, annotated, and completed.
  • Advise staff on web design best practices, including consistent and clear layouts, 508 compliances, and the use of visuals to enhance engagement and understanding.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent from a 4-year college in Computer Science or other closely related discipline is required.
  • Five years of professional expert level experience in web development and web design services.
  • Expert level experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Expert level experience leading small teams to perform web development services.
  • At least 3 years working within a Drupal environment and using components and Layout Builder to design webpages.
  • Familiarity with the US Web Design System and how to design webpages within its constraints.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HTML is required.
  • Experience with using Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products for optimized display on the web.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of current Section 508 accessibility requirements, including the ability to make sure all webpage elements meet these requirements.
  • Understanding of how to develop websites for search engine optimization.
  • Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team as well as independently on assigned projects.
  • Ability to take creative direction from stakeholders.
  • Experience working on web development for a federal agency or similar organization.
  • Experience collaborating with other federal agencies, academic community and industry on outreach and announcements.
  • This is a full-time, on-site position located at the clients facility in Washington DC/Alexandria, VA.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, organize, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must pass background check for security clearance.
