Job Title: Material Handler 1
Work Location: 1852 10th Ave, Columbus, NE 68601
Pay Rate: $22.70/hr on W2
Schedule Time: 12-Hour Night Shift; 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (includes working every other weekend).
Position Summary:
- Executes material handling, pallet/case picking, order processing, and shipment packaging in a high-volume manufacturing/distribution environment.
- Performs Quality Control (QC) inspections, including microscopic inspection of parts, while maintaining Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Operates material handling equipment (such as Walkie Riders/motorized pallet jacks) and uses RF scanners to track inventory and maintain warehouse records.
Responsibilities:
- Process customer orders by scanning barcodes, picking, packing, and labeling boxes using RF technology and voice scanners.
- Perform visual Quality Control (QC) checks on components and materials using a microscope.
- Build and re-palletize products for shipment, operate shrink wrappers, and handle dock manifest tasks.
- Safely transport pallets and materials across the facility using motorized pallet jacks (Walkie Rider) or material handling equipment (MHE).
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation in accordance with SOPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Adhere strictly to site safety, security, sanitation, and housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, organized work area.
- Participate in cross-training across various warehouse functions to support team operations as needed.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- QC & Inspection: Ability to perform visual Quality Control checks, including viewing components through a microscope.
- Material Handling: Experience operating RF scanners and motorized pallet jacks (Walkie Rider) preferred.
- Documentation & SOPs: Adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality guidelines.
- Communication & Work Ethic: Good verbal communication, basic organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or 1 year of relevant warehouse/distribution experience required.
Additional Information:
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour night shift (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) operating on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (Week 1: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on; Week 2: 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off).
- Physical & Safety Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Steel toe or composite toe safety shoes are required on site.
