Akkodis is seeking a Fiber Engineer for a Contract with a client in Doral, FL/Orlando, FL/Apex, NC(Hybrid). Responsible for designing fiber routes, creating maps, and managing fiber allocation for backbone and lateral projects.
Rate Range: $30/hour to $33.78/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Fiber Engineer job responsibilities include:

Design backbone and lateral fiber routes and create detailed fiber design maps for A-Z locations.

Provide fiber assignments to construction teams and coordinate closely with Fiber Construction Managers.

Prepare requisitions for purchase orders, approve vendor invoices, and manage project documentation.

Submit change management notifications and ensure compliance with field activity policies and guidelines.

Review capacity reports, plan network augments, and create work orders for overbuild and expansion projects.

Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response, working with NOC and field teams to restore fiber impairments.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience; BS/BA in Civil, Construction, or Electrical Engineering preferred.

1+ years of fiber engineering and construction management experience, plus GIS experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of outside plant construction techniques (aerial and underground) and familiarity with NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.

Excellent organizational and project management skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.78 per hour
