Job Summary: The Certerra Instrumentation and Monitoring Group is seeking a highly motivated Monitoring Specialist to join our team in the Northeast region. The Monitoring Specialist supports the operation and performance of geotechnical and structural instrumentation systems. This role involves assisting with programming, data management, and system troubleshooting while ensuring reliable monitoring and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in hardware and software, strong analytical skills, and an interest in technology-driven solutions.

Duties:

  • Assist with programming and preparation of instrumentation for field installations.
  • Manage and maintain instrumentation software platforms.
  • Track and organize instrumentation inventory.
  • Process, analyze, and validate monitoring data.
  • Prepare data summaries and technical reports.
  • Provide remote technical support to field technicians for troubleshooting, with possibility of site visits in emergencies.
  • Ensure quality control and calibration compliance for monitoring systems.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers on instrumentation performance and findings.
  • Communicate with clients regarding instrumentation data, alerts, and system performance.

Education/Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Computer Science, Geomatics, or a related technical field. (Preferred)

Certifications/Licenses:

Required:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic data management tools.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam Revu PDF software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with field and office teams.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with geotechnical or structural monitoring systems (e.g., total stations, vibration monitors, or data loggers).
  • Experience with data visualization or analysis software (e.g., GIS, MATLAB, SQL, Python).
  • OSHA 40-hour & SST Construction Safety Certifications.
  • Experience with cloud-based monitoring platforms
