Job Summary:
The Grocery Stock Clerk is responsible for keeping store shelves stocked, organized, and clean. This includes unloading deliveries, rotating products, checking for expired items, and assisting customers as needed to ensure a well-stocked and customer-friendly shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload deliveries and stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise.
- Rotate products using "first in, first out" (FIFO) to reduce waste.
- Check for and remove expired, damaged, or outdated items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of stock areas and sales floor.
- Build and maintain product displays and promotional setups.
- Assist customers with locating products and answering basic questions.
- Return misplaced items to their proper locations.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Notify management of inventory issues, shortages, or overstock.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior retail or stocking experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Basic reading and math skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or with a team.
- Flexible schedule availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
- Physically active role in a fast-paced retail environment.
- May require working in cold or refrigerated areas.
- Use of ladders, pallet jacks, and other basic equipment.
