Bluegrass Oral Health Center is seeking a dependable, motivated, and friendly Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team!

We are looking for someone who is organized, works well in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will assist our dental hygienists with daily clinical responsibilities to help ensure an efficient workflow and a positive experience for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from treatment rooms and prepare them for their appointments.
• Take dental X-rays as directed, in accordance with Kentucky requirements.
• Assist dental hygienists with daily patient care and clinical procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms before appointments and properly clean and disinfect rooms between patients.
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments while following infection control and OSHA guidelines.
• Assist with treatment planning and accurately enter recommended treatment into patient charts.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the practice management system.
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and fully stocked hygiene department.
• Communicate effectively with hygienists, dentists, and other team members.
• Provide a welcoming, comfortable, and professional experience for every patient.
• Assist with other clinical duties as needed to support daily office operations.

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
• Experience taking dental X-rays preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control practices is a plus.
• Experience with Dentrix is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy dental office.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Must meet applicable Kentucky requirements for assigned clinical duties.
