Job Title: CNC Plasma Operator

Type of Role: Contract to Hire

Expected Length of Contract: 2 to 3 months, can lead to Temp to Hire

Shift / Hours: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–11:30 PM | 10-hour shift

Location: Turlock, CA

Hourly Range: $23.00 per hour

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Operator to operate CNC plasma cutting equipment used to cut and fabricate steel components. The ideal candidate has experience with metal fabrication, can read blueprints and fabrication drawings, and is comfortable setting up jobs and producing accurate cuts according to specifications.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and cut sheets.
  • Load programs and verify machine settings before production.
  • Measure and position steel materials to ensure accurate cuts.
  • Load and unload steel plates and other materials.
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy, quality, and specifications are met.
  • Identify and report machine or production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous CNC plasma or metal fabrication experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and cut sheets.
  • Experience using tape measures and other measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of steel materials, material thicknesses, and cutting processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle steel materials as required.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to work a 10-hour shift and meet the Monday–Friday schedule.
