Litigation Attorney - Real Estate- Full Remote

Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with a focus on real estate matters to join our firm. The ideal candidate will handle contested real estate disputes, including contract disputes, landlord-tenant litigation, boundary and title disputes, foreclosure defense and enforcement, and related business law issues. This role requires strong litigation experience, deep knowledge of real estate law, and the ability to develop business through client relationships and strategic business development activities. The attorney will manage case strategy, draft pleadings and motions, represent clients in court and arbitration, and collaborate with transactional teams to provide integrated legal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a docket of real estate litigation matters from intake through resolution, including strategy development, pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations, advocating effectively at hearings and trial.
  • Conduct factual and legal research, draft briefs, motions, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents with precision and persuasive writing.
  • Advise clients on potential liability, risk mitigation, and litigation exposure in real estate and related business law matters.
  • Coordinate with transactional real estate attorneys, title companies, brokers, and outside counsel to align litigation strategy with business and transactional goals.
  • Engage in business development activities, including client relationship management, identifying cross-sell opportunities, participating in networking events, and contributing to proposal and pitch materials.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, providing feedback on litigation work product and developing team capabilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of real estate law, case law developments, and regulatory changes affecting real estate and business law practice.
  • Manage billing, case budgets, and client communications to ensure high-quality, cost-effective representation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience with a substantial focus on real estate litigation and related business law matters.
  • Proven courtroom experience, including handling hearings, trials, and mediations; strong oral advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in real estate law topics such as contracts, leases, title and boundary disputes, foreclosure, landlord-tenant law, and land use issues.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with attention to detail in drafting pleadings and briefs.
  • Business development acumen with a track record of client relationship building, originating or expanding client work, and participating in firm growth initiatives.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience supervising junior attorneys and support staff and providing constructive mentoring.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, and strong client-service orientation.
