Job Description

The Pricing Coordinator is an entry-level role within the pricing department, responsible for accurately loading customer pricing and commitments into internal platforms. This position focuses on managing the middle portion of the pricing process, including producing, researching, confirming, and entering pricing data so that the system can automatically distribute final quotes to the appropriate contacts. The role supports both new and existing customers and plays a key part in reducing backlog, improving pricing accuracy, and contributing to strong customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, complete, and respond to daily pricing requests within assigned due dates or service level agreements for new and existing customers in specific modes, products, or trade lanes.
  • Produce, research, confirm, and enter pricing information into multiple internal pricing platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness so that final pricing can be automatically sent to the correct contacts.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies before pricing business, including validating that commodities do not violate restricted or prohibited commodities policies and identifying any embargoed countries.
  • Document detailed notes on every pricing activity to clearly explain how pricing was compiled and to effectively communicate this information to relevant operations staff upon award.
  • Monitor progress toward assigned goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) and report monthly results back to management.
  • Communicate with and build rapport with stakeholders across network offices to maintain the most current accessorial charge pricing, enabling timely door-to-door pricing when customers require it.
  • Collaborate with management and peers to identify best practices, drive continuous improvement in pricing quality, and support trends that improve win ratios.
  • Learn, understand, and actively use various pricing tools and systems to complete daily work efficiently and accurately.
  • Support and follow established operational processes and procedures when pricing business to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Contribute to identified process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer responsiveness within the pricing function.
  • Perform data entry related to pricing, including using 10-key and strong typing skills to input information quickly and accurately.
  • Provide professional, customer-focused communication when responding to internal and external pricing inquiries.
  • Assist with other pricing-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 2+ years of air freight experience, preferably in pricing or closely related functions.
  • Air freight pricing background with demonstrated pricing knowledge.
  • International shipping and operations experience, such as global forwarding or freight specialist roles.
  • Basic math skills to accurately calculate and verify pricing and related charges.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets and data.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook and the broader Microsoft suite for communication and documentation.
  • Strong typing skills and 10-key typing experience to support high-volume, accurate data entry.
  • Solid understanding of transportation and logistics concepts, particularly as they relate to air freight.
  • Customer service experience with a positive, professional attitude in daily interactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and document pricing decisions.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records of pricing activities.
  • Ability to work with freight quotes, pricing, invoicing, and quoting processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred and supports long-term growth in pricing or logistics.
  • Experience with air freight pricing tools and freight quoting systems.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of pricing requests and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and collaborate with cross-functional teams and network offices.
  • Comfort working with data and using Excel to analyze, track, and report on pricing activities and KPIs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple pricing requests and priorities.
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in continuous improvement and identifying process efficiencies.
  • Ability to adapt to hybrid work arrangements and use remote collaboration tools effectively.

Work Environment

The role is based in a modern, recently renovated office in a cubicle setting, with many team members on-site to support collaboration and a strong office culture. The position follows a hybrid work model, with in-office work typically on Wednesday and Thursday alongside teammates and remote work from home on the remaining three days, requiring a reliable high-speed internet connection. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for a 40-hour workweek, with overtime offered at management’s discretion based on performance and business needs. The environment uses standard office equipment and Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook and Excel, as primary technologies. The initial engagement is structured as a 6-month contract with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role, depending on performance and business requirements. The office is located in an area with convenient access to restaurants and amenities, and the team emphasizes a supportive culture, collaboration, and professional growth within a structured yet flexible hybrid setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
