Position Summary
The Senior Capacity Planning Project Manager supports the Hill CEDC IT Operations & Maintenance contract at Hill AFB by leading the Capacity Planning project and directing execution of the ITIL Capacity Management process. The Senior Project Manager ensures capacity planning activities support hosting sustainment, modernization, onboarding, and production operational support across 2,000+ servers, 250+ applications, and multiple enclaves. As a senior‑level contributor, this position plans and leads major capacity planning assignments, evaluates performance results, recommends improvements, and provides supervisory oversight for Capacity Planning personnel.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of the ITIL Capacity Management process, including forecasting, modeling, performance analysis, and capacity planning methodologies.
- Direct and coordinate the work of the Capacity Planning team, ensuring alignment with mission needs and operational readiness requirements.
- Develop project scope, schedules, staffing plans, communication plans, and work assignments supporting capacity planning activities.
- Oversee development of the Hill CEDC Capacity Plan and quarterly capacity reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
- Ensure capacity planning outputs support hosting sustainment, modernization, onboarding, and production operational support requirements.
- Track project performance, risks, dependencies, and schedule adherence, and provide updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Provide project updates, milestone reporting, and inputs for the Monthly Status Report.
- Support CPM responsibilities and participate in required Government meetings, technical reviews, and stakeholder engagements.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the CPM, SMEs, technical teams, functional leads, and Government stakeholders.
- Ensure capacity documentation, models, and reports are accurate, complete, version‑controlled, and audit‑ready.
- Apply senior‑level expertise to evaluate capacity planning processes, recommend improvements, and ensure successful execution of high‑impact assignments.
- Supervise and mentor Capacity Planning staff, providing direction on methods, priorities, and performance expectations.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience in IT project management or technical project coordination.
- Experience leading IT infrastructure, modernization, or data center projects.
- Experience managing cross‑functional technical teams in enterprise IT environments.
- Understanding of Agile project management methodologies.
- Advanced technical knowledge of operating systems, network administration, virtualization, and service desk operations.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and documentation related to IT systems and infrastructure.
- Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Active Secret clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Required Certifications (only one required)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) – Scrum Alliance
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM) – Scrum.org
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ITIL Capacity Management or enterprise forecasting.
- ITIL Foundation or ITIL Managing Professional certification.
- Experience supporting DoD data center operations or federal IT programs.
Working Conditions / Environment / Physical Demands
- Position is performed on site at Hill AFB, Utah, in a secure professional environment.
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional evening or weekend work
- Work involves extensive computer and secure network use, including prolonged periods of sitting and screen time.
- Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, training, or program reviews.
