Overview
O’Connor Redd Orlando LLP is an established (30+ years) growing medium-sized city-practice law firm located in Port Chester, NY, conveniently located near the train station, specializing in insurance defense litigation including general liability claims and insurance coverage issues stemming from construction-related accidents, premises liability claims, motor vehicle accidents, property damage claims and products liability claims.
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Full-Time Associate Attorneys to join our dynamic legal team specializing in Insurance Defense Litigation. This position offers the flexibility of REMOTE work, allowing you to contribute effectively from any location while being part of a collaborative and supportive environment.
We actively train and mentor our associates who are encouraged to expand their skill sets from the drafting of pleadings through the second seating at trials.
Duties
•\tRepresent clients in insurance defense litigation cases, ensuring their interests are protected throughout the legal process.
•\tConduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to support case strategies.
•\tDraft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity.
•\tAppear for depositions, court conferences, mediations, etc.
•\tEngage in negotiations on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
•\tCollaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies and prepare for trials.
•\tManage a diverse caseload.
Experience
•\tJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
•\tAdmission to practice law in New York State. Admission in Connecticut and/or New Jersey is a plus.
•\tAt least 3+ years experience in litigation with a focus on insurance defense preferred.
•\tStrong negotiation skills coupled with excellent writing abilities for effective legal drafting.
•\tProficient in legal research methodologies and tools such as LexisNexis.
