Job Summary
B&A is looking for an Information Technology Subject Matter Expert to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a highly experienced Information Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as a Management Information System (MIS) Manager and lead enterprise-level IT initiatives across a large, multi-division, decentralized organization. This key personnel role involves designing and implementing risk assessment frameworks, business continuity planning, and supporting complex, multi-platform environments. The SME will provide strategic guidance on emerging technologies, automation solutions, and enterprise integration using modern cloud and networking technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage risk assessment and business contingency planning frameworks.
- Support multi-language, multi-platform, and multi-operating system environments.
- Utilize electronic commerce and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) applications.
- Recommend emerging technologies and software solutions to meet functional requirements.
- Provide specialized guidance on automation solutions for complex information processing challenges.
- Deliver customer support using enterprise software solutions in open systems and client-server architectures.
- Analyze data processing requirements and plan Electronic Data Processing (EDP) systems.
- Plan and implement new systems or modify existing systems to meet evolving needs.
- Develop and deploy applications using Internet protocols and platforms.
- Integrate and manage network infrastructure components including routers, switches, routed networks, and various topologies (Token Ring, Ethernet).
- Troubleshoot and optimize network performance using tools for polling and discovery.
Education and Experience:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) administration.
- Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
- Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database management.
- Network administration and Internet communication protocols.
- Project management experience in IT infrastructure and cloud deployments.
Required Skills:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) administration.
- Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
- Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database management.
- Network administration and Internet communication protocols.
- Project management experience in IT infrastructure and cloud deployments.
- Clearance: SECRET (Tier 5/SSBI – IT-I Critical Sensitive)
- IA Level: IAT II
- Certifications:
- One of the following GCP certifications:
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Plus one of the following AWS certifications:
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Desired Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of GCP administration and commercial cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI).
- Five (5) years of hands-on experience with DoD IT systems.
- Three (3) years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructures.
- Proven leadership in cloud infrastructure projects from design to sustainment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root cause analysis capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, DISA STIGs, and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, GCP Deployment Manager).
- Scripting and automation for system administration tasks.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, VPCs, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Experience preparing comprehensive documentation and reports.
Security Clearance:
- An Active secret clearance.
