About the Role:
The Childcare After School Supervisor plays a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children after school hours. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of children, ensuring their well-being, and facilitating educational and recreational programs. The supervisor will work closely with parents, teachers, and community members to create a supportive atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and physical development. By fostering positive relationships and encouraging teamwork, the supervisor will help children develop essential life skills. Ultimately, the goal is to create a fun and enriching experience that supports children's growth and learning outside of the traditional classroom setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- DCF 40 Hours REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience in a childcare or after-school program.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational programs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring all materials and equipment are safe and accessible.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive team atmosphere.
