Company is an established, locally owned flooring company serving residential and commercial customers in Morris and the surrounding area. We are entering an exciting stage of growth and are looking for a strong, hands-on Operations Manager who can help lead the business, develop the team, improve day-to-day operations, and create the structure needed for continued growth.

The Position

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of company while working closely with the owner to execute the company's goals.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can step into a growing organization, bring structure and accountability to the team, manage multiple priorities, and make sure customers, employees, subcontractors, and projects are being properly managed.

This position requires someone who is comfortable being both a leader and a hands-on problem solver.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the business and ensure work is completed efficiently and professionally.
Lead, coach, and hold employees accountable for performance and responsibilities.
Coordinate sales, scheduling, installation, customer service, and administrative activities.
Help establish clear processes, procedures, and expectations throughout the company.
Monitor jobs from initial sale through installation and completion.
Ensure customer concerns and service issues are addressed quickly and professionally.
Manage relationships and communication with flooring installers and subcontractors.
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training employees and subcontractors.
Monitor workload and installation capacity to ensure the company can meet sales and production goals.
Review sales performance, job profitability, operating expenses, and other key business metrics.
Help develop weekly and monthly sales and operational goals.
Conduct regular team meetings and communicate priorities clearly.
Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions.
Work with accounting/bookkeeping personnel to maintain accurate financial and operational reporting.
Ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed.
Provide the owner with regular updates regarding sales, operations, staffing, customer issues, and overall business performance.
Help build a management structure that allows the company to grow without requiring the owner to manage every daily activity.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous management or leadership experience.
Experience managing a small or midsize business operation preferred.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Experience supervising employees and holding teams accountable.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Comfort working with sales numbers, budgets, expenses, and basic financial reports.
Experience developing procedures and improving business processes.
Confidence making decisions and taking ownership of results.
Strong computer and technology skills.
Experience with QuickBooks or similar business/accounting software is a plus.
Flooring, construction, home improvement, retail, installation, or related industry experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience.
