Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for directing, planning and managing overall company operations, including but not limited to: quality control, quality assurances, sales teams, customer service, human resources, marketing and merchandising. This position is also responsible for maximizing return on investment, profit and loss, daily operation, planning, development and implementation of advertising functions. The Store Manager plans for both short- and long-term sales growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all facets of the business: retail, commercial, builder, multi-family, and insurance

  • Be an active member of the sales team and relay any new trends or threats to ownership

  • Responsible for all efforts related to flooring and all other product sales

  • Develop, implement and maintain processes, programs and tools to provide consistency in practices and cost control

  • Create, manage and execute plans to increase sales, profitability and customer satisfaction

  • Ensure job profitability by reviewing reports and meeting with sales associates

  • Analyze Progress Reports and evaluate the needs of the store

  • Manage cash flow through collection of accounts receivable, efficient scheduling of installed jobs & timely job costing

  • Mentor, coach and develop employees, recognizing strengths and weaknesses, and improve their skills and abilities

  • Oversee performance of operations team to ensure installation expectations are being met

  • Handle customer service issues that cannot be solved by the staff

  • Determine pricing methods / formulas for all product lines

  • Oversee pricing of the store and displays to ensure all are up to date and current

  • Review reports and meet with sales associates as ther are needed

  • Conduct performance evaluation of all sales staff formally once a week with 1 crew meeting each week

Responsibilities:

Sales: Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company's customer base and consequently increasing sales; assisting creating marketing material, marketing strategies and tracking marketing results; ensuring staff give great customer service as well as monitoring the financial performance of the store.

Office & Showroom: Opening and closing the store on the assigned hours; turning on/off the lights, music, maintaining daily cleanliness of the entire store including disposing trash, wiping counter top, furniture, window seals and bathroom; ensuring there are enough office and break room supplies; answering all phone calls, tracking missed calls, follow ups, messages and recordings; ensuring all samples are organized in proper place, in good condition, and properly labeled.

Customers: Receiving customers cordially, asking them how they found out about us (make sure to question further if they reply just "online”, as it is very important for us to know what advertisement has been effective), walking the store with them, offering them water or soda, making them feel comfortable; instructing them of how the showroom is organized (by type, price, color); explaining them on how we started; explaining that we have been in business for over 45 years; explaining that we are very selective with the materials we offer, we only work with quality products and legit brands; if there is a product we don't have in our showroom, we'll be glad to investigate on it for them as we have access to all products and brands in the market, explaining our stocking inventory and showing them the samples installed and why they are successful in our marketplace.

Educating and guiding customers is the most important piece for you to make the sale, they need to feel how much we know about our product! Educating them about the products we offer (vinyl, counter-tops, wpc, carpet, laminate, engineered wood) and explaining why we don't work certain products. Educating them on anything else they may be interested in learning; guiding them through our samples so they can find the best product based on what is important to them.

Jobs: Scheduling measurement, taking an accurate measurement of the current project and any future projects with the Ipad. Finalize it in the home to prevent any lapse in communication. make sure the customer signs the invoice and we collect the down payment, which should be 75% of the invoice total, either by check, credit card or financed (in case of credit card, signature is needed in the slip, if financed signature is need in the agreement).

Once down payment is received, all materials need to be ordered with our vendors and a confirmation of installation needs to be done with customers and including the job in our installation schedule, follow up on delivery dates with vendors and with warehouse to ensure receipt of material; make sure you have notated how the customer will be paying the final amount if not paid for already.

Other responsibilities: The Store/Sales Manager will be expected to cover for any of our stores anytime needed. In addition, he will be expected to be an Outside Sales, supervise, train and support Sales Associate, maintain a great relationship with manufacturer and distributor reps, support all areas of the company, marketing related and customer acquisition duties (advertisement, networking, make relationship with local business, organize and attend pertinent company meetings) office administration and system processes (Qfloors, Measure Square, Google Sheets, word, Gmail, Huddle), bids, customer service, promotions, problem resolution, special events, meeting sales, budget and operational goals and any related additional tasks needed.

In order to be successful in this position, the manager will have to work independently, have good interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrate determination, have competitive drive, and an eagerness to learn all facets of our company. They must have a positive attitude and strong desire to provide exceptional customer service and sell. They must also possess the drive to make an immediate impact on a growing company.
