Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Logistics Specialist to support shipping, receiving, and material movement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, maintaining accurate shipping documentation, supporting production schedules, and ensuring materials and equipment are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process domestic and international shipments using major parcel carriers and freight providers.
  • Prepare, package, and verify outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain shipping documentation, including tariff (HTS) codes, product information, and inventory records.
  • Schedule, track, and monitor shipments to customers, suppliers, and other locations.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, including planning, execution, and inventory movement.
  • Build custom wooden crates and packaging for large, sensitive, or high-value equipment.
  • Utilize an ERP system to track shipments, inventory, and shipping activity.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Production, and Service teams to support production and customer delivery schedules.
  • Maintain packaging material inventory and coordinate replenishment as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, efficiency, and material handling practices.
  • Assist with additional operational responsibilities to support business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of shipping and logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating international shipments and shipping documentation.
  • Experience with ERP systems; manufacturing ERP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • Ability to safely operate woodworking tools to construct shipping crates is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift materials throughout the workday.
  • Regular use of hands and arms to handle equipment, packaging materials, and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
