Job DescriptionA well-established regional law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support attorneys across multiple practice areas, including transactional, corporate, real estate, and litigation matters. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment supporting sophisticated client matters and high-level attorney teams.POSITION OVERVIEWThe ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong administrative and communication skills. This role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and provide comprehensive legal and administrative support in a deadline-driven environment.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents, correspondence, contracts, pleadings, and memoranda
- Manage and organize large volumes of legal documents while maintaining strict confidentiality standards
- Prepare and coordinate court filings, including electronic filing submissions
- Maintain attorney calendars, scheduling, meetings, and conference calls
- Open and maintain client files and assist with conflict check processes
- Enter attorney time and assist with billing review and editing
- Process expense reports, check requests, and administrative documentation
- Coordinate file maintenance and closing procedures
- Assist with preparation and coordination of transactional and real estate closing documents, including deeds, affidavits, escrow materials, easements, and closing statements
- Provide additional administrative and legal support as needed across multiple practice areas
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum prior legal secretary experience within a law firm or professional services environment preferred
- Experience supporting litigation, transactional, real estate, or corporate legal practices is highly valued
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys and priorities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and professionalism
- Strong discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with electronic filing systems, document management platforms, timekeeping, and billing software preferred
- Ability to work with redlining, track changes, and document comparison tools
- Comfortable learning and adapting to new legal technologies and software systems
