Our client is a successful, growing, luxury jewelry retailer with an exceptional reputation. We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused, team-oriented, certified Rolex Watchmaker. The role supports their Retail Sales team and provides exceptional service to the company’s valued clients. Reporting to the Rolex Service Manager, this full-time Watchmaker works in a professional, team-oriented, elegant retail setting and works onsite, in-store, 4 days per week, Tuesday through Friday.
The ideal candidate is a certified Rolex Watchmaker with 2+ years of watchmaking experience, has excellent communication skills and a passion for the Rolex brand and luxury watch category. The candidate is positive, proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, team-oriented and motivated to provide exceptional service. Our client is open to providing partial relocation assistance for the right, non-local, qualified candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
DIAGNOSIS, DISMANTLING, CASE PREPARATION AND REPAIR
- Describe the condition of the piece to be evaluated.
- Identify root causes of problems in accordance with client requests.
- Select the adequate service in accordance with Rolex’s standards and policies while meeting the client’s request.
- Propose solutions to solve repair issues. Identify the spare parts needed to repair the evaluated piece.
- Dismantle timepieces and track and organize all dismantled parts.
- Remove straps or bracelets, separate movement / dial / hands from the case components and dismantle all watch case components.
- Analyze and decide proper methodology to repair any calibrate movement repair needed, except those calibers that require restoration.
- Use or develop adequate tools or processes to correct issues that can arise during the repair process.
- When needed, resolve issues related to limited (or no) access to spare parts by fixing existing components of the piece.
- Install and assemble the repaired watch case components in preparation of the encasing of the movement.
- Install the dial and the hands prior to encase the movement and close the watch.
- Check and ensure integrity and waterproofness of the case.
- Perform Quality Control to ensure that the repaired piece is in proper working order.
MAINTENANCE, ORGANIZATION AND SERVICE
- Follow Rolex Brands’ specifications and repair technical procedures.
- Consistently maintain high standards of time and quality in watchmaking.
- Maintain all shop tools and equipment and ensure that all equipment is correctly and accurately calibrated and maintained at a high standard.
- Ensure proper layout and accessibility of all tools and equipment to work most efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.
- Ensure that all repair work is completed on time to ensure the highest level of satisfaction with all client relationships.. Aim to exceed customer expectations of Rolex product and service offerings every time. Provide accurate support information to clients.
- Contribute as a team-player to drive the highest levels of customer satisfaction and store business growth.
- Work effectively with the company’s designated Rolex Field Services brand Representative.
- Foster and maintain positive, professional, effective working relationships with team members, clients and partners.
KEY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Watchmaker training and diploma from the WOSTEP Foundation or Swiss American Watchmaker Training Alliance (SAWTA). Rolex credentials to be verified by the company’s Rolex Field Services Representative.
- Must be able to pass a required in-person Rolex watchmaker bench test.
- 1+ years of prior full-time Rolex watchmaker experience (with polishing) at Rolex Level 40.
- High level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions, analyze and solve problems by using adequate processes and tools available and provide a high level of quality.
- Passionate about the Rolex watch brand with a demonstrated understanding of the luxury customer experience and service level expectations.
- Passionate about providing exceptional customer service. Committed to understanding clients’ needs and expectations with a strong desire to exceed them.
- Professional, positive, and detail-oriented with excellent follow-up. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively interface, communicate and build relationships with team members, management and clients.
- Desired Characteristics include accurate, collaborative work style, detail-oriented, proactive, problem-solver, proposes solutions, results-focused, self-starter, service-oriented, team-player.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The company may consider employment sponsorship for well-qualified Rolex-trained Watchmaker candidates.

POSITION LOCATION AND RELOCTATION ELIGIBILITY:
Retail store-based role in Washington DC metro area. Must be able to work onsite from Tuesday through Friday. Local, qualified Washington DC metro area candidates will be given preference and priority. Qualified candidates from outside the greater Washington DC metro are who are willing to relocate to the area will be eligible for partial relocation assistance.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS INFORMATION:
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
