JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently looking for a Solution Architect to join our team. Compensation and job level will be based on overall qualifications, including number of domains and years of experience. The Solution Architect I is responsible for the design of integrated, adaptable and secure technology solutions that enhance strategic business capabilities. This role will align business technology with the company's goals and objectives, with a strong emphasis on security throughout the technology lifecycle.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize broad technology knowledge, experience and architecture design skills to support the selection, development, integration, and implementation of technologies that meet business needs.
  • Contribute to the development of guidelines, standards, and solution designs in one or more technology domains (applications, infrastructure, security, cloud, integration) that ensure the successful delivery of the organization's capabilities and technical direction.
  • Design technology and security best practices and risk mitigation strategies from inception.
  • Ensure secure technology design principles and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Work to turn business needs into actionable solution architecture, ensuring technology controls and security is a fundamental component of every design.
  • Act as a consultant on a range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes, evaluating each for security and technology controls implications and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and interoperability of solutions, emphasizing secure integration patterns and data protection.
  • Help develop and maintain architectural concepts, standards, solution designs, and best practices, with a strong emphasis on technology, security, and data architecture frameworks and secure coding guidelines.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging new tools and methodologies to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization, while continuously staying abreast of new threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Deliver support to enterprise systems, architecture, infrastructure, and security, setting up technical teams for successful solution delivery.
  • Provide assistance to innovative working sessions and quickly create ad-hoc diagrams to visually communicate ideas and solutions effectively,
  • Contribute to the preparation and administration of technology governance and technical road mapping, with a focus on one or more of the technology domains.
  • Ensure effective, efficient integration and upgrades of all systems to ensure alignment of disparate platforms in a hybrid technology (on- and off-prem) systems environment.
  • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements, specifically identifying security vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
  • Assist the applications, infrastructure, security, and data teams to design, integrate and optimize systems or infrastructure within an overarching architecture, providing guidance on security controls and best practices.
  • Support solution design sessions identifying key areas of risk and opportunities on projects, with a primary focus on designing / implementing solutions to align with technology and security best practices.
  • Work with the Automation Center of Excellence organization to scan the market evaluate generative AI technologies and platforms as it relates to the key QCRH solutions portfolio to determine their suitability and effectiveness to meet company policies, standards, and objectives, paying close attention to data privacy, ethical AI, and potential security/fraud risks.
  • May participate in Enterprise Architecture Review Board (ARB), providing a strong technology and security domain perspective on all architectural decisions.
  • Provide service to development and operations teams on secure coding practices, security tooling, and incident response protocols.
  • Stay informed about the latest technology, security and bank fraud risks along with defense mechanisms, translating this knowledge into actionable improvements for QCRH.
  • Comply with all company or regulatory policies, controls, procedures and requirements applicable to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years’ experience in technology and security, architecture and/or design, with a minimum of 3 years focused on one or more technology or security domains (e.g., infrastructure, security architecture and engineering).
  • Banking or Financial services industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience creating roadmaps, technology recommendations, and architectures, including comprehensive solution architectures and risk assessments.
  • Previous experience with technology approaches such as Cloud Native (preferably Azure and Google), DevOps, Containerization, REST API, Microservices, and service bus, with demonstrable experience in securing these environments and technologies.
  • Previous experience in delivering integrations between externally hosted / cloud and on-premise solutions, with a strong understanding of secure data transfer and authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience with Visio for the purpose of capturing both high-level concepts and detailed integrations, including flow diagrams and threat models.
  • Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Waterfall, and DevOps, with a proven ability to integrate security into every stage of the SDLC (SecDevOps).
  • Innovative self-starter and a strong leadership style to include teamwork and team building ability.
  • Technology knowledge in one or more technology, security, fraud domains with demonstrated ability to integrate the various domains into a cohesive solution architecture to solve a business need.
  • Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proactive, driven by curiosity and innovation.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate ideas with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Capability to manage sensitive information and uphold confidentiality.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Duties are performed in a professional office environment.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

The minimum salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually. The actual starting salary will be based on qualifications and business needs and may vary, as permitted by applicable state law.
