Position Summary

The DSP Team Leader plays a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality supports and smooth day-to-day operations within residential programs. This position serves as a supervisor/mentor to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), providing guidance, training, and oversight to ensure that each individual supported receives compassionate, person-centered care consistent with BrightPaths mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals in residential programs, promoting independence and community inclusion. Including completing Medication Administration.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for DSP staff, assisting with training, onboarding, and daily guidance.
  • Complete weekly programmatic schedules.
  • Monitor documentation for accuracy and compliance, including daily notes, incident reports, and medication records.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, Program Manager, and clinical staff regarding individual needs and progress.
  • Assist with implementation of ISPs (Individual Support Plans) and behavior support strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to all BrightPath policies, ODP 6400 regulations, and health/safety standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or emergency coverage as assigned.
  • Support a positive, team-oriented culture within the home and organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Direct Support Professional or equivalent role in human services.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to guide and support a team.
  • Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to complete and maintain all ODP-required trainings and clearances.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
