Job DescriptionDescriptionWe're looking for an Accounting Manager to join our expanding organization. This newly created position offers the chance to make a significant impact as a trusted financial advisor supporting accounting operations and being a key liaison for our client relationship. The position reports to the Corporate Controller and is onsite with flexibility and does include travel to client’s location in metro Detroit.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the accounting team to manage and support the accounting operations and needs of the client, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and accounting operations specific to the client needs
- Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to support operational goals
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support as needed
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations specific to client accounts
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and workflow
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA preferred
- Prior experience in the hotel or hospitality industry is beneficial and preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial analysis and reporting
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and demonstrated expertise in preparing accurate financial statements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, and willingness to dive into day-to-day operations
- Proven success in fast-paced, dynamic, and complex work environments
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, fostering collaboration and trust
