Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology
Location: Neptune, NJ
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (With High Possibility of Extension or Permanent Placement)
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 3×12 Hours/Week | Weekends and Holidays as Needed
Local Candidates Required: Yes
Traveler Candidates Required: Yes

Pay Range: $65 - $70/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide inpatient oncology care, including specialized care for adult leukemia and lymphoma patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey RN license or valid multi-state compact RN license.

  • ASN required; BSN preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of acute adult oncology experience in an inpatient setting.

  • Specialized experience with leukemia and lymphoma patients required.

  • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and Chemo Certification required.

  • Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills.

  • Proficiency in basic nursing skills and patient care.

  • Oncology/Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience preferred.

  • Willingness to float as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments based on patient needs and clinical condition.

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care.

  • Provide therapeutic nursing interventions and manage assigned patients.

  • Provide inpatient care to adult oncology patients, including those with leukemia and lymphoma.

  • Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and other nursing procedures.

  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.

  • Administer chemotherapy according to established oncology and chemotherapy protocols.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.

  • Float to other appropriate units as required by facility needs.

  • Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
