Job Description

The Light Duty Truck Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing light-duty vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and completing repairs in a timely and efficient manner. The mechanic will work independently and as part of a team to support daily operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on light-duty vehicles, including oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, and inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all work performed
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures
  • Operate company vehicles as needed to support maintenance and repair activities
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding vehicle status and repair needs

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience as a light-duty truck or automotive mechanic required
  • ASE certification preferred but not required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, electrical, and suspension
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

Job Details

Pay: 1099 Pay Rate-- $46 - $50.60 / hr pay, W2 Pay Rate: $41.25- $45.38 / hr pay

Location: Midland, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-5p
