Our client, an OEM in niche electronics, is seeking an Electronics Quality Manager to lead product quality initiatives from concept through production and post-launch support. This role works across R&D, NPI, manufacturing, and supplier networks to ensure our electronic products consistently achieve high reliability, strong manufacturing yields, and full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate about building quality into every stage of development and driving continuous improvement.
Compensation: $70K to $90K USD
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with R&D and Engineering teams to embed quality standards early in product design and development.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality programs, including performance monitoring, audits, and corrective actions.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by defining validation processes and ensuring successful product launches.
- Lead quality activities across manufacturing operations to drive compliance, consistency, and process improvement.
- Analyze warranty claims, product returns, and field failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain quality management systems and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Test Engineering to improve product testing and identify defects before shipment.
What you bring:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of quality engineering experience within an electronics manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. OEM experience is considered a strong asset.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, product reliability testing, quality standards, and defect prevention methodologies. Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is preferred.
- Certifications: Professional quality certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) are an asset.
- Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills, with experience using quality tools, statistical methods, and manufacturing systems to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
